Green Teach Community Farm is an inclusive, welcoming space where people come together to learn, grow, and connect. We focus on community engagement, hands-on education, and creating positive experiences for children and young people, including those with additional needs. Through practical activities, supportive sessions, and time spent on the farm, we help participants build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy learning in a friendly community environment.

Jannine McMahon
A passionate educator and community practitioner, dedicated to connecting young people with nature, sustainability and food education inspiring curiosity about the natural world with a strong focus on inclusivity, wellbeing and building confidence and life skills.

Hoon Seong Tao
An NHS Consultant Anaesthetist who has volunteered at Moss Lane Farm since 2014. Hoon champions the farm as a community place where local people especially children and young people build a lasting sense of belonging to the land and care for the future of Chat Moss.

Karen Gelder
A primary teacher with over 20 years' experience, committed to inclusive, trauma-informed practice for children with SEND. As a neurodivergent practitioner, Karen creates calm, safe environments where children build relationships, autonomy and a sense of purpose.

Every session is built around meaningful, practical activity building trusting relationships, confidence and real skills along the way.
Community Market Garden
GrowGrow and harvest vegetables from seed to plate, discovering patience, pride, and the science behind food, seasonal cycles, and sustainable growing. Our Soil Association-certified organic practices focus on nurturing healthy soil, encouraging biodiversity, and growing food naturally without harmful chemicals. Participants gain a deeper understanding of where food comes from while developing practical skills and a lasting connection to the land.
Woodlands & bushcraft
ExploreIdentify trees and plants, engage with bird life, learn conservation practices like composting, plus hammocks, rope swings and campfires.
Animal care
ConnectFeed the horses and chickens, collect eggs and explore life cycles, and walk Max our border collie, building responsibility and empathy through routine.
Cooking & food skills
MakePrepare and cook food while learning self-sufficiency, food hygiene and safety developing fine motor skills with room to experiment and be creative.
Nature arts & crafts
CreateWillow weaving, clay modelling, bug hotels and bird feeders made from foraged materials expressing emotions and telling stories through making.
Play in the arena
MovePlay-based learning for balance, coordination and movement, collaboration, sensory play, imagination and problem solving that support physical health.
